Children in Year 3 and 4 have been working through different genres of writing. They have been reading Michael Morpurgo’s ‘Wreck of the Zanzibar’ where they been writing newspaper articles, looking at different character perspectives, and character analysis of the book, plus letter writing. The end result of all their hard work is that they wrote a letter to Michael Morpugo and here is the reply…..
Year 6 have also been looking at narrative writing and have been focusing on how authors use language for effect and tell their stories through their characters. They looked in detail at Michelle Paver’s Wolf Brother and created an alternative chapter to the one written by the author seeing if they could take the story in a different direction. Year 6 have been very lucky to receive some feedback from Michelle Paver on their work and also some tips for what will help them to develop their writing further.
