PE and Sport Premium

As a Catholic school, an essential part of our ethos is nurturing the whole child, recognising the importance of developing children’s physical, emotional, social and spiritual wellbeing. We are committed to providing a wide range of opportunities for all pupils to develop their physical literacy, discover new interests and experience the enjoyment and benefits of participating in sport and physical activity.

We are proud to have achieved the Platinum School Games Mark, recognising our commitment to providing high-quality opportunities for pupils to participate in sport and physical activity.

The Government provides additional funding to improve the provision of Physical Education (PE), sport and physical activity in primary schools. This funding, known as the PE and Sport Premium, is provided jointly by the Department for Education, the Department of Health and Social Care, and the Department for Culture, Media and Sport. The funding is used to make sustainable improvements to the quality of PE, sport and physical activity available to our pupils.

Throughout the school year, we offer a wide range of clubs and activities both during and beyond the school day, working in partnership with 360° Sports Coaching. These opportunities are available to pupils across both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, ensuring that children of all ages and abilities have opportunities to participate, develop their skills and enjoy being active.

Each half term, our pupils have the opportunity to represent the school at a variety of tournaments, competitions, events and sports festivals organised in partnership with our local School Games organisers. These opportunities are available to pupils from Years 1–6 and include activities such as swimming, multi-skills, football, cross country and hockey.

We are committed to ensuring that our sporting provision is inclusive and accessible to all pupils, with opportunities that celebrate participation, teamwork and personal achievement. We also maintain links with Panathlon, supporting our commitment to inclusive sporting opportunities for children with additional needs.

Below, you will find a copy of our most recent PE and Sport Premium Report, which outlines how the funding has been used to enhance and develop PE, sport and physical activity across our school.
